Lime Crime: Heavy Metal Makeup Line

Hey guys,

I thought I’d bring you a different, more explanatory post this week featuring Lime Crime’s makeup line. I know there’s been a lot of controversy about this brand but we can’t deny that their products are amazing.

Doe Deere should really be proud of herself. The Russian-born shabby-chic clothes maven turned musician turned cosmetic superstar has really outdone herself with Lime Crime’s new Heavy Metals line!

Deere established Lime Crime Cosmetics in 2008, and like her previous Velvetine and Perlees lines, these beautiful and luscious lipsticks are sure to please. Heavy Metals can easily be found on Amazon, or it is sold directly from the Lime Crime online store. It is even sold by reputable and established boutiques such as Dolls Kill and Urban Outfitters.

The price point is a bit higher than most mid-range lipsticks, but due to the line’s high quality, the price is actually kind of a bargain (imo anyway). If you order from Lime Crime directly, you will find that the shipping is also quite fast. The packaging is insane and lived up to the standard that the company is known for.

The design of the tube and wand show that a lot of work went into the design of the product and it looks far from cheap. The sparkly hues through you can see through the clear tubes make the lippies look magical! Each shade has a warm vanilla smell, almost like cake frosting, that makes the product even more appealing (good enough to eat, although not recommended). Lime Crime are renown for their palette of unique and long-lasting colours that are hard to find anywhere else! You try find some dupes of these gorgeous colours:

Blondie is a light pink and Mercury is a fair lavender colour, and both are very pretty shades with a hint of shimmer. Posh is a deep purple, and the colour is strong. It is best not to layer it and concentrate on evening out the colour on the first try. I’d describe Happi as a sort of rose gold colour, very on trend right now! Lana is a stunning brown, this would look good for the upcoming Autumn months and Vibe is a lovely lilac/purpley shade. I think all of these shades will suit any skin tone!

The pigmentation is prominent and gorgeous, with a thick consistency. The colours are striking at a far distance without making you look like a clown. They’re made to spread easily, with a smooth texture. They keep your lips hydrated and are very comfortable.  They apply in a liquid form, but dry after about 30 seconds.

The colour quickly adheres to your lips without drying them, and is practically budge-proof. Feel free to drink as much as you like, eat whatever you want and kiss all day – you won’t need to worry about the product fading!

Lime Crime are high up when it comes to liquid to matte lipsticks, and it looks like they still are with Heavy Metals.

Thanks guys, hope you’ve enjoyed this different kind of post!
