This has been a long awaited post because I wanted to be 100% certain that this product is worth reviewing – the Kylie Jenner Lipkit in Dolce K!
I tried and tried and tried soo many times to get my hands on one of these, if you haven’t been living under a rock for the past 6 months you’ll know what I’m talking about – they literally sell out in minutes!
I was just browsing the site when I saw that Dolce K didn’t say ‘sold out’ for once so I went for it. The lipkits come with a liner and a matte lipstick costing $29 which is roughly £20, not bad for two products! The shipping is what makes it expensive at $14.95 – about £10. So the whole process will cos us brits about £30 altogether (depending on the exchange rates, the price can be give or take).
It took about 8 days to reach my house, which isn’t bad at all, I’ve waited longer for products coming from within the UK.
The liner itself is amaaaaazing, it’s a lovely nude shade with orangey undertones – it will go well with any nude lipstick.
The lipstick is incredible. It dries so matte, yet it’s super comfortable on the lips. The first day I tried this, I was working at the pub – I applied the lipstick around 4pm and it lasted ALL night you guys!! Literally up until around 2am – I didn’t have to reapply it at all and best of all it didn’t smear, fade or crack – this was with drinking and eating as well.
(Left is wet, right is dry)
I will say though that it’s super hard to get off of your lips but I found using an oil based makeup remover works the best. That being said, I have noticed if you eat particularly oily food you can see the lipstick fade a bit, but not much!
It’s such a universal shade. I think it will suit any skin tone and any makeup look ☺
However, I recently placed an order last week for the Kylie Metal Matte Lipstick in the shade Heir and I received it yesterday. Obviously I was super excited to try a new product but as I opened the box I realised they had sent me King K (the gold one) instead which I wasn’t happy about as it’s a shade that won’t suit me at all. Upon reading the sites t&c’s it said they do not accept refunds, returns or exchanges which is disappointing. I’ve read a lot of horror stories about how bad the Kylie Cosmetics customer service team is too.
But on a lighter note, if you do indulge in one of the kits (in the right shade, of course) they’re definitely worth every penny! Keep checking the Kylie app or the Kylie Cosmetics twitter page to keep your eyes out for the next release!
